Weather in Kenya, this link tells you what to expect and when

This leads to the BBC's page on Kenyan Weather. I thought I'd find you something that you can trust. In general. If you like it really hot, go to the coast at Christmas. If you don't like the heat very much, stay in the highlands (with the added bonus that there is no malaria in the highest parts of Kenya). If you want to roast yourself alive, I'd recommend the area around Magadi. Very beautiful, very out of the way. VERY HOT.

If you want to know the exact weather in any one place this is the site for you http://www.wunderground.com/global/KN.html

It gives wonderfully detailed weather in loads of different places. By the way although it may be great weather in Dagoretti, you never want to go there. It does desevere the name Dagasmelly. You have to go through it on your way up the rift and it's much better done rapidly.

The BBC does a five day forecast which is all very nice. Though I wouldn't put too much trust in it to be honest. As I am writing it is the rainy season, I've heard that the rains haven't failed and the readings for the moment at the airport show that it has been raining and that it is cloudy. So the BBCs prediction of bright sunshine might need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Slightly more accurate perhaps might be the Yahoo weather site
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/KEXX0009.html

This seems to tally better with what the weather is actually like.

Strange that the BBC could get it so wrong, really the weather in Kenya is pretty easy to predict.

I'm actually not a meterologist and this info is supposed to be helpful to anyone who wants to go to Kenya - I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to provide detailed statistics - try Googling exactly what you're looking for - for instance, if you search for 'rainfall in thika' you seem to get lots of information.

For people wanting to go to Kenya, in my opinion, if you want to go, just go, no matter what time of year it is. In the rainy season it mostly only rains for a short time most days, which actually clears the air.

If you're going on safari and are going to care about seeing every simgle animal possible (or if you're camping in normal tents) you may want to go in the dry season. Rainy seasons are Nov-Dec (not so rainy) and March-May (more rainy). The reason for going on safaris in the dry seasons are because it makes it easier to see the animals as they're all close to water and the grass is less high (and you're less likely to get stuck in the mud) - however, safaris in the rainy season are also fun and you can see animals and you can just be a bit more careful driving if you don't want to get stuck.

No no Kirsty, you should have a great time. It's unseasonal for it to be raining in Kenya at the moment. Even when it is the rainy season (which it isn't) the rain shouldn't spoil your holiday as it certainly doesn't rain all day. I hope you have an amazing time.
